Kirkstall Online was started in February 2000 by Adrian De Montfort and Matthew Guy who were living in the Kirkstall area. The aim of the site is to be a central place to find out and share information about the community of Kirkstall. There are opportunities for local people to be involved in the project, pursuing their own areas of interest. Some ideas already developed include: hosting a discussion board to discuss matters of local interest hosting websites for community groups providing kirkstall.org.uk e-mail addresses to groups and individuals photographic records of events in and around kirkstall links to local business and community sites Other ideas which have never been developed due to lack of time from the team include: local history pages photographs of past and present Kirkstall online radio or television station including coverage of local events, interviews and news. In October 2004, Kirkstall Online became a corporate member of the Kirkstall Village Community Association (now the Kirkstall Valley Community Association). In 2006, the founders of the site moved to Nova Scotia in Canada but Matthew still maintains the site remotely. If you wish to be involved in any of these or your own project, please contact us.
